Ingredients

  • 1 cup of sticky rice
  • 1 cup of coconut milk
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of grated coconut
  • 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sticky rice and soak it in water for 2 hours.
  2. In a pot, combine the coconut milk and sugar. Stir until dissolved.
  3. Add the soaked sticky rice to the pot and cook over low heat until the rice is tender.
  4. In another pot, sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.
  5. Add chicken pieces and cook until browned.
  6. Pour in water, soy sauce, and salt. Simmer until chicken is cooked through.
  7. Serve the sticky rice with chicken on the side.
