Ingredients

  • 1 9-inch pre-baked pie crust
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mixed fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bake the pie crust for 10-12 minutes until golden. Let it cool.
  3. In a saucepan, heat milk over medium heat until simmering.
  4. Whisk sugar, egg yolks, and cornstarch in a bowl.
  5. Slowly pour hot milk into the egg mixture while whisking.
  6. Return mixture to the saucepan and cook until thickened.
  7. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract.
  8. Pour custard into the pie crust and chill for 2 hours.
  9. Top with fresh berries before serving.
  10. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
