  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  4. Alternately add dry ingredients and milk, mixing until just combined.
  5. Divide batter evenly between pans. Bake 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool cakes in pans 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  7. For frosting, beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream until fluffy.
  8. Frost cooled cake layers and serve.
