Description

This Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta is a creamy, decadent dessert that pairs beautifully with a fresh berry coulis. It’s simple to make and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons gelatin powder
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla bean paste. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is warm, but not boiling.
  2. In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
  3. Once the cream mixture is warm, remove it from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved.
  4. Pour the mixture into ramekins or dessert glasses and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  5. To make the berry coulis, place mixed berries, powdered sugar, and lemon juice in a blender. Blend until smooth, then strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds if desired.
  6. To serve, run a knife around the edge of the panna cotta and invert onto a plate. Drizzle with berry coulis and enjoy!
