- 1 pound sponge cake
- 2 cups custard
- 2 cups mixed berries
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1/2 cup sherry (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the sponge cake into cubes.
- Layer half of the cake cubes at the bottom of the trifle bowl.
- Drizzle with sherry if using.
- Add half of the custard over the cake layer.
- Layer half of the mixed berries on top of the custard.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
- Top with whipped cream.
Notes
- Chill the trifle for a couple of hours before serving.
- Use any seasonal fruits available.
- For a lighter version, use low-fat whipped cream.
