Ingredients
Scale
- 1 whole Beef brisket
- 1 tablespoon Kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon Black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 2 cups Smoked wood chips
- 1 cup Beef broth
Instructions
- Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
- In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Trim excess fat from the brisket, leaving about 1/4 inch of fat for flavor.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket, covering it completely.
- Let the brisket sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Place the wood chips in the smoker and add the brisket, fat side up.
- Smoke the brisket for about 1.5 hours per pound, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 195°F (90°C).
- During the last hour of cooking, wrap the brisket in butcher paper and add the beef broth to keep it moist.
- Once done, remove the brisket from the smoker and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For best results, use a meat thermometer to ensure accurate cooking.
- You can use different types of wood chips for varying flavors, such as hickory or mesquite.
- Always slice against the grain for tender pieces.
