  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

A classic Texas BBQ brisket recipe that delivers tender, smoky, and flavorful meat, perfect for any barbecue gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 whole Beef brisket
  • 1 tablespoon Kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 cups Smoked wood chips
  • 1 cup Beef broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  3. Trim excess fat from the brisket, leaving about 1/4 inch of fat for flavor.
  4. Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket, covering it completely.
  5. Let the brisket sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  6. Place the wood chips in the smoker and add the brisket, fat side up.
  7. Smoke the brisket for about 1.5 hours per pound, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 195°F (90°C).
  8. During the last hour of cooking, wrap the brisket in butcher paper and add the beef broth to keep it moist.
  9. Once done, remove the brisket from the smoker and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • For best results, use a meat thermometer to ensure accurate cooking.
  • You can use different types of wood chips for varying flavors, such as hickory or mesquite.
  • Always slice against the grain for tender pieces.
