Ingredients

- 1.5 lbs beef stew meat
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
- Place beef stew meat in the crock pot.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic.
- In a bowl, mix beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, thyme, and black pepper.
- Pour the mixture over the beef.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- If desired, mix cornstarch with a little water and stir into the pot to thicken the sauce.
- Serve hot over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes.
Notes
- For extra flavor, brown the beef in a skillet before adding to the crock pot.
- You can add mushrooms or bell peppers for more vegetables.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
