Ingredients

  • 4 lbs beef brisket
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 275°F.
  2. Mix ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, pepper, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Rub the brisket with half the sauce and place in a roasting pan.
  4. Cover tightly with foil and cook for 5 hours.
  5. Remove foil, brush with remaining sauce, and cook uncovered for 30 more minutes.
  6. Let rest for 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to check doneness (195°F-205°F).
  • Slice against the grain for tenderness.
