This easy sweet potato casserole uses canned yams for a quick and delicious dish that’s perfect for holidays or any family gathering.

- 2 cans (15 oz each) canned yams, drained
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup mini marshmallows (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the canned yams until smooth.
- Add brown sugar, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the mashed yams. Mix until well combined.
- Transfer the sweet potato mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- If desired, sprinkle mini marshmallows and chopped pecans on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until heated through and the marshmallows are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of salt or more spices to taste.
- You can substitute the brown sugar with maple syrup for a different sweetness profile.
