- 4 cups sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (for topping)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large pot, bring sweet potatoes to a boil and cook until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash.
- In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, 1/2 cup brown sugar, granulated sugar, milk, 1/4 cup melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix until smooth.
- Spread the sweet potato mixture evenly in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the pecans, flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 1/4 cup melted butter until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the sweet potato mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
