  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (for topping)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, bring sweet potatoes to a boil and cook until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash.
  3. In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, 1/2 cup brown sugar, granulated sugar, milk, 1/4 cup melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix until smooth.
  4. Spread the sweet potato mixture evenly in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the pecans, flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 1/4 cup melted butter until crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the sweet potato mixture.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.
