- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini muffin tin.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix together the melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
- Spoon the batter into the mini muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the treats cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- These little bites can be customized with different mix-ins like dried fruit or different types of chocolate.
- For an extra special touch, serve them with a side of whipped cream or serve in cute little paper liners.
