Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add butter and milk; mix until smooth.
  5. Beat in eggs until well combined.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.
  9. Whip cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  10. Assemble the cake by placing one layer on a plate, topping with strawberries and whipped cream. Add the second layer and repeat.
