Ingredients

  • 1 can (21 oz) strawberry pie filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced (optional)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly in the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the strawberry filling. It doesn’t have to be perfect; it will spread while baking.
  5. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top of the cream cheese mixture.
  6. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
  7. If using, scatter the fresh sliced strawberries on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
