Ingredients

  • 400g spaghetti
  • 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions.
  2. While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  3. Add garlic slices and chili flakes. Cook until garlic is golden but not burnt.
  4. Drain spaghetti, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  5. Add cooked spaghetti to the pan with garlic oil. Toss well.
  6. If needed, add reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.
  7. Season with salt and top with parsley and Parmesan if desired.
  8. Serve immediately.
