Ingredients

- 4 chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Season chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Coat chicken in flour, shaking off excess.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Brown chicken on both sides, then remove and set aside.
- Cook onions in the same skillet until soft.
- Add remaining flour to the skillet, stirring for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in chicken broth and water.
- Return chicken to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 25 minutes.
- Serve hot over rice or mashed potatoes.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a dash of hot sauce to the gravy.
- Use bone-in chicken for juicier results.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
