  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for gravy)

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, mix 1 cup flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Dip each steak in buttermilk, then coat evenly with the flour mixture.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry steaks for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter and whisk in 2 tablespoons flour to make a roux. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Gradually add milk while stirring to avoid lumps. Simmer until gravy thickens, about 5 minutes.
  6. Serve steaks smothered with gravy.
