Description

A hearty and comforting casserole featuring smoked sausage and cheesy potatoes, perfect for a family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 4 cups potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the smoked sausage over medium heat. Set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onions until translucent.
  4. Add potatoes, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in sour cream and milk until well combined.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with shredded cheese.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
  8. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, broil for 2-3 minutes at the end.
  • Substitute mozzarella or pepper jack cheese for variety.
