- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 4 cups potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, brown the smoked sausage over medium heat. Set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onions until translucent.
- Add potatoes, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Stir in sour cream and milk until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with shredded cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, broil for 2-3 minutes at the end.
- Substitute mozzarella or pepper jack cheese for variety.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
