This classic shrimp scampi recipe features succulent shrimp sautéed in a buttery garlic sauce, tossed with pasta for a deliciously quick and easy meal.

- 8 oz linguine or spaghetti
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1 lemon, juiced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
- Pour in the white wine and lemon juice, bringing it to a simmer. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce slightly.
- Stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter until melted and combined.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce.
- Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For added flavor, use shrimp with shells on and remove them after cooking.
- Feel free to customize by adding vegetables like spinach or cherry tomatoes.
- Serve with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
