Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugar until light. Beat in egg and vanilla.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients to form dough.
- Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes. Cool completely.
- For icing, mix powdered sugar, meringue powder, vanilla, and water until smooth.
- Divide icing and color as desired. Pipe onto cooled cookies.
- Let icing dry completely before storing.
