Ingredients

  • 2 ribeye steaks, about 1 inch thick
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 medium potatoes, cut into fries
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425Β°F (220Β°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and caramelized, about 20-25 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. While the onions are cooking, prepare the fries. Toss the potato fries in a bowl with the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Spread them out in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake the fries in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through, until they are crispy and golden.
  5. While the fries are baking, season the ribeye steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
  6. In another skillet, heat a little olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the ribeye steaks and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or cook to your preferred doneness.
  7. Once cooked, remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
  8. Serve the ribeye steaks topped with caramelized onions, alongside the crispy French fries. Garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the steaks in olive oil, garlic, and herbs for a few hours before cooking.
  • Feel free to add your favorite seasonings to the fries for a personal touch.
