- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Add warm milk, melted butter, egg, red food coloring, and vanilla. Mix until dough forms.
- Knead dough for 5 minutes, then let it rise for 1 hour.
- Roll dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter, then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll tightly and cut into 12 pieces. Place in a baking dish.
- Let rolls rise for 30 minutes, then bake at 375°F for 20 minutes.
- Beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over warm rolls.
Notes
- Use gel food coloring for vibrant red color.
- Let dough rise in a warm place for best results.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
