- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- For the frosting: 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2–3 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Mix in pumpkin puree.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk, mixing until just combined.
- Divide batter evenly into liners. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely before frosting.
- For the frosting, beat butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, cinnamon, milk, and vanilla until creamy.
- Frost cooled cupcakes and serve.

- Use fresh pumpkin puree for best flavor.
- Store cupcakes in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- For a stronger spice flavor, add extra cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice.
