Description
This pulled pork sandwich recipe features tender, slow-cooked pork shoulder slathered in barbecue sauce and served on a soft bun with coleslaw.

- 4 lbs pork shoulder
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 6 hamburger buns
- Coleslaw (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a small bowl, mix together paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder.
- Place the pork shoulder in a roasting pan and cover tightly with foil.
- Cook in the preheated oven for 6-8 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
- Remove the pork from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes before shredding.
- Once cooled slightly, shred the pork with two forks and mix in barbecue sauce.
- To serve, pile the pulled pork onto hamburger buns and top with coleslaw.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the pork shoulder in the spice rub overnight.
- You can also cook the pork shoulder in a slow cooker on low for 8-10 hours.
- Feel free to use your favorite barbecue sauce or make your own.
