Description
A classic prime rib roast cooked in the oven with bone-in for added flavor.
Ingredients

- 1 bone-in prime rib roast (5–7 pounds)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a bowl, mix garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme.
- Rub the mixture all over the prime rib roast.
- Place the roast bone-side down in a roasting pan.
- Roast in the oven for 20 minutes.
- Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (165°C) and continue roasting for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness.
- Remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature.
- For medium-rare, aim for 130°F (54°C).
- Adjust cooking time based on the size of the roast.
