A simple recipe for cooking prime rib roast in the oven at 500 degrees.

- 1 prime rib roast (5–7 lbs)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Pat the prime rib roast dry with paper towels.
- Rub the roast with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, and rosemary.
- Place the roast in a roasting pan with the fat side up.
- Roast in the oven for 15 minutes.
- Reduce the oven temperature to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Continue roasting until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness.
- Remove from oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before slicing.
