Description
Classic peanut butter cookies with a chocolate kiss in the center.
Ingredients

- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 24 milk chocolate kisses, unwrapped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and baking soda.
- In another bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and peanut butter.
- Add egg and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix well.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
- Let cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
Notes
- Use room-temperature butter for easier mixing.
- Do not overbake—cookies should be lightly golden.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
