This pan-seared cod with lemon butter sauce is a quick and flavorful dish that’s perfect for any weeknight dinner. The cod is seasoned and cooked to perfection, then topped with a bright and zesty lemon butter sauce that elevates the dish to a whole new level.

- 4 cod fillets (6 oz each)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Season the cod fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the cod fillets to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the cod from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in the lemon juice and lemon zest, cooking for an additional minute.
- Return the cod to the skillet and spoon the lemon butter sauce over the top.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh cod fillets.
- You can substitute other types of white fish if desired.
