A deliciously flaky cod fillet pan-seared to perfection and served with a zesty lemon butter sauce that enhances its flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cod fillets
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the cod fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the cod fillets to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the fillets and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Allow it to melt, then add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the lemon juice and cook for another minute.
  6. Return the cod fillets to the skillet, spoon the sauce over the fish, and cook for an additional minute to warm through.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
