- 4 cod fillets
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season the cod fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the cod fillets to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the fillets and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Allow it to melt, then add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in the lemon juice and cook for another minute.
- Return the cod fillets to the skillet, spoon the sauce over the fish, and cook for an additional minute to warm through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
