  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

A delicious and smoky BBQ experience using an oil drum as a grill. Perfect for gatherings and outdoor cooking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 oil drum (clean and food-safe)
  • Charcoal or wood chips
  • Meat of your choice (chicken, ribs, brisket, etc.)
  • BBQ sauce (your favorite)
  • Spices (salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, etc.)
  • Vegetables (optional, for grilling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the oil drum by cutting it in half lengthwise and ensuring there are proper ventilation holes.
  2. Clean the drum thoroughly to remove any residue.
  3. Add charcoal or wood chips to one side of the drum for indirect cooking.
  4. Light the charcoal or wood chips and let them burn until they are covered with ash.
  5. While the grill is heating, season your meat with BBQ sauce and spices.
  6. Place the seasoned meat on the grill grate over the cooler side of the drum.
  7. Cook the meat slowly, turning occasionally and basting with BBQ sauce.
  8. For added flavor, you can add vegetables to the grill in the last 15-20 minutes of cooking.
  9. Once the meat reaches the desired doneness, remove it from the grill and let it rest before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure to monitor the temperature throughout the cooking process.
  • Experiment with different types of wood chips for varying flavors.
  • Always ensure proper safety measures when using an oil drum BBQ.
