Description
A perfectly grilled New York Strip Steak that is juicy, flavorful, and easy to prepare. Ideal for a special occasion or a weekend dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 New York Strip Steaks, about 1-inch thick
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Fresh rosemary or thyme for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.
- Preheat your grill to high heat, around 450°F (232°C).
- Pat the steaks dry with paper towels to remove moisture. This helps get a good sear.
- Rub both sides of each steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Place the steaks on the hot grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until a thermometer reads 130°F (54°C). Adjust time for your desired doneness.
- Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for about 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.
- Slice the steaks against the grain and garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For best results, use a meat thermometer to gauge doneness.
- Feel free to add your favorite steak marinade or seasoning for extra flavor.
- Letting the steak rest is crucial for a juicy outcome.
