  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

A perfectly grilled New York Strip Steak that is juicy, flavorful, and easy to prepare. Ideal for a special occasion or a weekend dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 New York Strip Steaks, about 1-inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.
  2. Preheat your grill to high heat, around 450°F (232°C).
  3. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels to remove moisture. This helps get a good sear.
  4. Rub both sides of each steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  5. Place the steaks on the hot grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until a thermometer reads 130°F (54°C). Adjust time for your desired doneness.
  6. Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for about 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.
  7. Slice the steaks against the grain and garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best results, use a meat thermometer to gauge doneness.
  • Feel free to add your favorite steak marinade or seasoning for extra flavor.
  • Letting the steak rest is crucial for a juicy outcome.
