- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a baking sheet.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in milk and vanilla until just combined.
- Drop dough onto the baking sheet in 6 equal portions.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden. Let cool.
- Whip cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Slice each shortcake in half. Layer with strawberries and whipped cream.
- Top with the other half of the shortcake and extra strawberries.
Notes
- Use chilled cream for best whipping results.
- Serve immediately for the freshest taste.
