Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix pumpkin puree, melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until smooth.
  5. Pour batter into the pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cool before slicing.

Notes

  • Use pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling.
  • For extra richness, add chocolate chips to the batter.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
