Description
A flavorful and tender Mississippi pot roast cooked in the oven.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3–4 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 packet ranch dressing mix
- 1 packet au jus mix
- 1 cup beef broth
- 6–8 pepperoncini peppers
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
- Place the beef chuck roast in a large roasting pan.
- Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus mix over the roast.
- Pour the beef broth around the roast.
- Top the roast with pepperoncini peppers.
- Add slices of butter on top of the roast.
- Cover the pan with foil.
- Bake in the oven for 4-5 hours until the meat is tender.
- Shred the beef with forks and serve.
Notes
- For extra flavor, sear the roast in a skillet before baking.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
