- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup cooked lobster meat, chopped
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute to create a roux.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and comes to a simmer.
- Remove from heat and stir in the Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Add the cheddar and Gruyere cheeses to the sauce, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Fold in the cooked macaroni and lobster meat until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with breadcrumbs.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
