Ingredients

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup cooked lobster meat, chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute to create a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and comes to a simmer.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  6. Add the cheddar and Gruyere cheeses to the sauce, stirring until melted and smooth.
  7. Fold in the cooked macaroni and lobster meat until well combined.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with breadcrumbs.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
  10. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
