These classic lemon bars are the perfect combination of sweet and tart, with a buttery shortbread crust and a creamy lemon filling. They are easy to make and sure to please any crowd!

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Mix in 2 cups of flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt until well combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 1/2 cups sugar and 1/4 cup flour. Add in the eggs, lemon juice, and lemon zest, and mix until smooth.
- Pour the lemon filling over the hot crust and return to the oven. Bake for an additional 20 to 25 minutes, or until the filling is set.
- Allow the lemon bars to cool completely in the pan before dusting with powdered sugar and cutting into squares.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh lemons for juice and zest.
- These lemon bars can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
