Description

Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Brown ground beef in a skillet. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add marinara sauce to the beef. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Mix ricotta, egg, Parmesan, salt, pepper, and basil in a bowl.
  6. Layer 3 noodles in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  7. Spread half the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
  8. Add half the meat sauce.
  9. Sprinkle 1 cup mozzarella on top.
  10. Repeat layers, ending with mozzarella.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly.
  12. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey for beef.
  • Use no-boil lasagna noodles to save time.
  • Add spinach to the ricotta mixture for extra nutrition.
