Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 cup beef broth
Instructions
- Mix ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl.
- Form into 4 equal patties.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side. Set aside.
- In the same pan, melt butter and add onions. Cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle sugar over onions and stir until dissolved.
- Pour beef broth into the pan and simmer until slightly thickened.
- Return patties to the pan and coat with the onion sauce.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Use 80/20 ground beef for juicier patties.
- Caramelize onions slowly for best flavor.
- Adjust seasoning to your taste.
