Description

This easy honey garlic chicken recipe made in the crock pot is a family favorite! Tender chicken coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic, and ginger.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the crock pot and pour the honey garlic sauce over them.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until chicken is cooked through and tender.
  4. Remove the chicken from the crock pot and shred it with two forks.
  5. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Stir this mixture into the sauce in the crock pot.
  6. Turn the crock pot to high and let the sauce thicken for about 10 minutes.
  7. Return the shredded chicken to the crock pot and mix to coat with the sauce.
  8. Serve warm, garnished with chopped green onions.
