Description
Crispy, golden homemade fries made effortlessly in an air fryer. Perfectly seasoned and healthier than traditional frying!
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
- Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into even-sized sticks or wedges, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.
- Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
- In a large bowl, toss the dried potato sticks with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
- Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded. You may need to do this in batches.
- Air fry the potatoes for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking to ensure even crispiness.
- Once golden and crispy, remove the fries from the air fryer and season with additional salt if desired.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if using.
Notes
- For extra crispy fries, consider soaking the potatoes longer or using a little cornstarch in the seasoning mix.
- Experiment with different seasonings like cayenne pepper or Italian herbs for various flavor profiles.
