Description

A classic homemade apple pie with a flaky crust and sweet caramel drizzle.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled
  • 1/4 cup ice water
  • 6 cups thinly sliced apples
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix flour and butter until crumbly. Add ice water to form dough.
  3. Roll out half the dough for the bottom crust and place in a pie dish.
  4. Toss apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  5. Fill the pie crust with the apple mixture.
  6. Roll out the remaining dough for the top crust and place over apples. Seal edges.
  7. Cut slits in the top crust for ventilation.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Drizzle caramel sauce over the pie before serving.

Notes

  • Use Granny Smith apples for a tart flavor.
  • Chill the dough for 30 minutes before rolling for easier handling.
  • Let the pie cool slightly before slicing.
