Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot of boiling salted water, blanch the green beans for about 5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Add the blanched green beans to the soup mixture and stir until the beans are evenly coated.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. If desired, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven, stir the mixture, and then top with crispy fried onions.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider adding garlic powder or sautéed mushrooms to the mixture.
