This easy green bean casserole is a classic dish made with fresh green beans, creamy mushroom soup, and crispy fried onions. Perfect for holidays or family gatherings!

- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups crispy fried onions, divided
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large pot of boiling salted water, add the green beans and cook for about 5 minutes until tender but still crisp. Drain and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Add the cooked green beans to the soup mixture and stir until well combined.
- Transfer the green bean mixture to a 2-quart baking dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of the crispy fried onions on top of the green bean mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining fried onions on top.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown.
Notes
- For a homemade version, you can use freshly sautéed mushrooms instead of cream of mushroom soup.
- Feel free to add shredded cheese to the mixture for extra flavor.
