Description

A comforting and creamy green bean casserole that is easy to prepare in a crock pot. Perfect for holiday gatherings or weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 (14.5 oz) cans green beans, drained
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup French fried onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the drained green beans, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Add half of the shredded cheddar cheese and half of the French fried onions to the mixture. Stir until combined.
  3. Transfer the green bean mixture to the crock pot and spread it out evenly.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 2 hours.
  5. In the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese and French fried onions on top.
  6. Cover and let it cook until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can substitute fresh green beans for canned if desired; just blanch them before adding.
  • For added flavor, mix in some cooked bacon or ham.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge; just reheat in the crock pot.
