A comforting and creamy green bean casserole that is easy to prepare in a crock pot. Perfect for holiday gatherings or weeknight dinners.

- 2 (14.5 oz) cans green beans, drained
- 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup French fried onions
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the drained green beans, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Add half of the shredded cheddar cheese and half of the French fried onions to the mixture. Stir until combined.
- Transfer the green bean mixture to the crock pot and spread it out evenly.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 2 hours.
- In the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese and French fried onions on top.
- Cover and let it cook until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- You can substitute fresh green beans for canned if desired; just blanch them before adding.
- For added flavor, mix in some cooked bacon or ham.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge; just reheat in the crock pot.
