Ingredients

- 1.5 pounds chicken breasts (cut into 1-inch cubes)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup tzatziki sauce
- 4 pieces pita bread
- 1 medium cucumber (sliced for serving)
- 1 medium tomatoes (sliced for serving)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
- Add chicken cubes to the marinade, mix well, and let marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Thread marinated chicken onto skewers.
- Grill chicken skewers for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until fully cooked and golden brown.
- Remove from grill and let rest for a few minutes.
- Serve chicken souvlaki with tzatziki sauce, pita bread, cucumber, and tomatoes.
Notes
- For best flavor, marinate the chicken for longer.
- You can substitute the chicken with pork or beef.
