Description

- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 pita breads
- 1/2 cup sliced cucumber
- 1/2 cup sliced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup diced red onion
- 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce
Instructions
- Mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Coat chicken breasts with the marinade and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Grill chicken over medium heat for 6-7 minutes per side until fully cooked.
- Slice chicken into thin strips.
- Warm pita bread on the grill for 1 minute per side.
- Assemble gyros by placing chicken, cucumber, tomatoes, and red onion on pita.
- Drizzle with tzatziki sauce and serve immediately.
Notes
- For best flavor, marinate chicken overnight.
- If you don’t have a grill, cook chicken in a skillet over medium heat.
- Substitute tzatziki with hummus if preferred.
