- 1 cup grits
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, bring water and salt to a boil. Stir in the grits and reduce heat to low. Cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- Meanwhile, in a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Season with salt and pepper.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley until combined with the shrimp.
- Serve the garlic Parmesan shrimp over the cooked grits. Enjoy!
