  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, bring water and salt to a boil. Stir in the grits and reduce heat to low. Cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley until combined with the shrimp.
  5. Serve the garlic Parmesan shrimp over the cooked grits. Enjoy!
