Description

A deliciously sweet and buttery fresh peach cobbler that’s perfect for summer. The peaches are baked in a simple syrup, topped with a rich, golden biscuit crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 3/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour, cinnamon, salt, and lemon juice. Toss to coat the peaches and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Stir in melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until just combined.
  4. Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit batter over the peaches.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining sugar over the top of the biscuit batter.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with ice cream if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg to the peach mixture.
  • This cobbler is best served warm and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
