- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup crispy fried onions
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large pot of boiling water, blanch the green beans for about 5 minutes until bright green. Drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, cheddar cheese, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.
- Add the blanched green beans to the soup mixture and stir gently to coat.
- Transfer the mixture to a 9×13-inch baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle the crispy fried onions on top.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the onions are golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, sauté some chopped onions and garlic in butter before adding to the soup mixture.
- You can substitute fresh green beans with frozen green beans if fresh ones are not available, but make sure to thaw and drain them before mixing.
