- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook until caramelized (about 15 minutes).
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Toast hamburger buns lightly.
- Fill buns with the meat mixture and top with shredded Gruyère cheese.
- Broil for 2-3 minutes until cheese melts. Serve hot.
