- 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon gelatin powder
- 3 tablespoons cold water
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries and granulated sugar. Blend until smooth and set aside.
- In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over cold water and let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom.
- In a saucepan, heat the blended strawberry mixture over medium heat until warm, then stir in the bloomed gelatin until completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold the strawberry mixture into the whipped cream until fully combined and no streaks remain.
- Spoon the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
- Serve chilled, garnished with fresh strawberries if desired.
